The Preferred Future

Having a preferred future is hugely important for the sector. It allows us to shape the future of play, active recreation and sport in Aotearoa New Zealand in line with what matters most.

This is about the future we aspire to achieve. It paints a picture of an outcome that people can strive for, something that people can get excited about.

It involves analysing the possible and probable futures and identifying a set of actions to prevent bad outcomes and achieve good ones, based on our resources and goals.
