The Sport NZ suite of governance policies (Board Charter) was most recently updated in 2018. The update included a governance level health and safety policy given the ongoing importance of this to the board.

Some changes to the 'proscriptive' language style recommended by the creator of the Policy Governance model, John Carver, have also been included

The Charter as a word template has been gifted to the sector by Boardworks as part of their ongoing contribution to the comprehensive range of resources provided through Sport New Zealand.

Any sector board wishing to make this Charter their own can request a copy by emailing governance@sportnz.org.nz.
