Active Movement in Water
Research shows that fundamental movement skills are critical for healthy brain development in a child’s early years. This includes movement learned in the water.
Active Movement in Water is an early childhood initiative developed to raise awareness about the importance of early childhood aquatics.
About the programme

It is a joint partnership between Sport New Zealand and Swimming New Zealand supported by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, early childhood education organisations, Plunket, the National Heart Foundation, the New Zealand Recreation Association (NZRA), WaterSafe Auckland, and New Zealand Swim Coaches and Teachers (NZSCAT).
