Outdoor Recreation Strategy 2009-15

Credit: John Borren - BOP Times Credit: John Borren - BOP Times The Outdoor Recreation Strategy (the Strategy) was released by SPARC (now Sport New Zealand) in August 2009.  This followed our review of the outdoor recreation sector with support from the Department of Conservation in 2007, and consultation with government agencies and sector stakeholders in 2008.

The Strategy tackles the challenges identified in the review and consultation process. It will help Sport NZ achieve its objective of getting more people involved in outdoor recreation so that its many benefits can be enjoyed by individuals, communities, and the nation.

Outdoor Recreation Research Agenda development

Sport NZ is developing an Outdoor Recreation Research Agenda as part of the Outdoor Recreation Strategy 2009-2015.

Sport NZ wants to gather input on the research agenda from all those with an interest in outdoor recreation, so shortly we will be adding an on-line Outdoor Recreation forum to our website that will provide updates and seek feedback on the development and contents of the research agenda. So watch this space ...
