CoachForce

CoachForce was one of the first initiatives to come out of the New Zealand Coaching Strategy (PDF, 1.26 Mb) (PDF, 1.3MB). It focuses on participation, enabling as many people as possible access to coaching services through the best local channel.

CoachForce is a nationally driven, regionally delivered programme involving Sport New Zealand, National Sport Organisations, Regional Sport Organisations, Regional Sports Trusts and funding partners such as community trusts and gaming trusts.

What are its aims?

The CoachForce programme aims to:

1. deliver more and better coaches, contributing to increased participation in organised sport at a community level.
2. encourage collaborative and strategic investment into sport between a range of partners.
3. provide a delivery mechanism for the New Zealand Coaching Strategy.
4. provide a developmental pathway for coaches.

Sport NZ invests in regional sports trusts and helps broker partnerships between national sport organisations and local funding bodies to support CoachForce.
